TerraTex EP Woven Geotextiles for Erosion Control
Tree Shear blades are heavy duty specially developed and angled for best cutting performance. The tree shears are carried on heavy duty steel bars for extra strength. Blades can be sharpened as needed with hand grinder.
Fabric Properties & Description
TerraTex EP is a high strength, highly water permeable geotextile. It is constructed of polypropylene monofilaments and is designed to meet or exceed typical Corps of Engineers plastic filter fabric specifications (COE-02215). The fabric has been stabilized against ultraviolet UV degradation. TerraTex EP is recommended for embankment protection where specifications call for or conditions merit a very robust fabric. It may also be used for subsurface drainage protection and siltation control.

Protection of embankments and slopes against erosion has long been a structural and environmental problem. Retaining walls and various types of armor stone have proven to be a partial solution as they absorb the major forces exerted by water movement. Unfortunately, such methods are often threatened because the native soil may be scoured from behind structures by the more subtle water movements.
In the 1960's the Corps of Engineers experimented with and determined that geotextiles can be effective in controlling this scouring out of native soils from behind embankments and slope protection structures. TerraTex EP has been manufactured to exceed or meet the fabric specifications of the Corps of Engineers for such applications.

|
TerraTex EP10 is a woven geotextile made up of polypropylene monofilaments which are formed into a stable network such that the filaments retain their relative position. It is non-biodegradable and resistant to most soil chemicals, acids, and
alkalis with a pH range of 3 to 12. TerraTex EP60 is manufactured to meet or exceed the following roll value requirements.
