Roatary disc Mulcher

Rotary Disc MulcherThe rotary disc mulcher is an agressive attachment for medium sized excavators that cuts brush and small trees, and mulches the material. Used for clearing and thinning in forestry, Equipmentland was impressed with the thoughtful design and excellent manufacturing of the rotary disc mulcher to be the industry standard for efficient clearing. The rotary disc mulcher is much more than an alternative to popular drum mulchers, which are effective in some cases on flat ground; the rotary disk mulcher by far excels in applications that require carrier mobility, high productivity and effective brush removal with limited down time. The rotary disc mulcher is surely the most effective solution to efficient fast clearing

In the field demonstration for Equipmentland of clearing forest floor fuel material for fire control, we were impressed by the overall design and it's productivity. It is remarkable that an excavator with such an attachment can do so much and not be a dedicated machine. The rotary disc mulcher is a super robust attachment that is most frequently used with a quick coupler and a four tine thumb. The attachment can be quickly removed from a carrier outfitted with a coupler such as Hendrix, Gannon, Balderson (CAT), Wainroy, etc.

The rotary disc mulcher's main feature is the rotary disc which, outfitted with carbide teeth on the bottom, the outer edge and with square, rotatable teeth on the top of the spinning disc -- cuts, mulches and grubs with easy control by the operator. In addition, the leading edge of the housing allows pushing/and pulling of material such as rootwads. When outfitted with a hydraulic thumb like the demonstration model, the rotary disc mulcher is a highly versatile extension of the operator who can learn effective operation in a minimum of time.

The company that designed and manufactures the rotary disc mulcher is an experienced, hands-on company that is continually developing the machine. The rotary disc mulcher is currently being used in many states, having been manufacturered for nearly a decade. Sold as an attachment, the manufacturer reviews the customer's carrier specifications and outfits it with the apppropriate unit. Carriers which are preferred for uneven terrain are the newer models of 15-30 metric ton, reduced tail swing models such as CAT 250 and CAT320, and simililar models, especially ones with high flow dedicated circuits. Having adequate hydraulic flows allows the rotary disc mulcher to be operated at optimum facility. A dedicated pump with around 80 GPM is optimum.

In addition to the rotary disc mulcher, the manufactuer offers a custom cab protection system for most popular carriers. A full frame is installed around the carrier's operator cab, and full-length side side panel protections are welded to the carrier frame, with lights, doors, etc. available with a host of other options. Equipmentland was impressed with the quality of design and manufacture of this serious safety add-on. It was difficult to tell that the protection kit was not factory built. This kit is installed by the rotary disc mulcher factory technicians at your site.

Companies utilizing the rotary disc mulcher can maximize profit on projects. Whether it is your construction project or a contract for clearing, the process can be done in remarkably less time than ever before. At the location we visited to see the rotary disc mulcher in operation, it was reported that the first inspection by the National Forest Service manager requested the contractor to not mulch as finely, in order to leave more variety of mulch size for longer term decomposition. This was no problem for the contractor which meant more profit.

If high productivity clearing such as fuels reduction is your need, we know of nothing that comes even close to the rotary disc mulcher, an attachment that works like a dedicated excavator clearing machine.
