Hydraulic Thumbs for Excavators

Hydraulic thumbs for excavators come in two basic styles - universal style with its own main pin and a weld-on base plate, or a shared-pin style thumb. Hydraulic thumbs require a dedicated two-way hydraulic circuit routed up the stick with pressure set approximately 70% of bucket curl pressure so the bucket will be able to overpower the thumb versus the opposite.  The universal style advantage is ease of mounting and a greatly reduced risk of pin failures.

The Amulet PowerBrute Hydraulic Thumb (Grapple)

The Amulet PowerBrute hydraulic thumb (grapple) offers more control than a rigid thumb - an inexpensive universal hydraulic bucket thumb of the highest quality. This hydraulic thumb fits all sizes of loaders, backhoes and excavators. The PowerBrute is an upgraded Amulet Brut thumb. Amulet thumbs are of the highest quality. When not needed the thumb stores flat to the dipper stick. Weld on base plate. An optional hydraulic diverter valve kit available for backhoes with extendable sticks. The PowerBrute Hydraulic Thumb can be curled independent of bucket, a highly useful feature for demolition, rock placement, land clearing, etc.
